Christ Apostolic Church Theological Seminary Ile Ife offers Postgraduate Admissions into Postgraduate Diploma (PGD.Th) and Masters programmes (M.Th & M.A).

POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA IN THEOLOGY

Objectives

  1. To offer post-baccalaureate theological training for those who will qualify for further studies at Masters and Doctoral levels.
  2. To prepare candidates for further studies in specialised Masters of Theology programme in Biblical Studies, Missiology, Theological, and Philosophical Studies.
  3. To provide ministerial training for committed church members who are interested in acquiring basic Theological Education.
  4. To train gospel ministers who will provide ministerial assistance to the local church leaders.

 Entry Requirements

  1. At least five (5) Credits in Senior Secondary School Certificate including English Language at one or two sitting(s).
  2. All applicants must possess, a first Degree (or equivalent) from any recognised theological institution, University or Polytechnic with a minimum of good honour degree/grade with at least evidence of 3 years of post-school experience in the Ministry.
  3. The PGD.Th is a programme designed for graduates from other fields of study other than theology or graduates of theology with Third Class who wish to broaden their knowledge of the Bible or the Christian faith and or wish to answer the call of God on their lives to train for the Christian ministry.
  4. Entrance Examinations and Interviews are compulsory for All Applicants.Each applicant is expected to score at least 50% in the entrance examination and perform well during the interview among other issues to consider for his/her admission qualification.

Duration of the Programme

Postgraduate Diploma in Theology (PGD.Th) shall cover a period of two semesters with coursework and a research project.

Mode of Study

  1. This programme, Postgraduate Diploma in Theology (PGD.Th) shall be run on a monthly basis.
  2. The programme Postgraduate Diploma in Theology (PGD.Th) will involve lectures and Seminars. The curriculum indicates Compulsory (C), Required (R), and Elective (E) courses for a candidate to qualify for the award of Postgraduate Diploma in Theology.
  3. Candidates are required to register for a minimum of 30 units and a maximum of 32 units.

 Graduation Requirements

  1. Candidates must have completed a minimum of 30 units and a maximum of 32 units for PGD in Theology (PGD.Th) with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 of a pass grade system.
  2. Given point number one (1) above, candidates must have registered and passed the required number of courses prescribed for the award of PGD.Th including carrying out and defending a research project on an approved topic within the stipulated period for graduation.
  3. The programme must be completed within the maximum period of two years.
  4. Candidates must have demonstrated evidence of Christian character and eagerness to learn. Wish to broaden their knowledge of the Bible or the Christian faith, and/or wish to answer the call of God on their lives to train for the Christian ministry.

 

MASTERS PROGRAMME

Objectives

  1. To offer postgraduate theological training for those who will qualify for further studies at the Doctoral level.
  2. To prepare candidates for further studies in specialized Masters of Theology programme in Biblical Studies, Missions, Theological and Philosophical Studies.
  3. To provide ministerial training for committed church members who are interested in acquiring basic theological education.
  4. To train gospel ministers who will provide ministerial assistance to the local church leaders.

Entry Requirements 

  1. At least five (5) Credits in Senior Secondary School Certificate including English Language at one or two sittings.
  2. He must possess a good honour degree in Theology or other related fields.
  3. Special consideration may also be given to candidates with Third Class provided they possess additional qualifications e.g. Postgraduate Diploma in Theology (PGD.Th) or in a related discipline and wish to broaden their knowledge of the Bible or the Christian faith, and/or wish to answer the call of God on their lives to train for the Christian ministry.
  4. Entrance examination and interview are compulsory for All Applicants. Each applicant is expected to score at least 50% in the entrance examination and interview among other issues to be considered for his/her admission qualification.

 Duration of the Programme

Master of Theology shall cover a period of two academic sessions of three (3) semesters(18 months) minimum and four (4) semesters maximum. 

Mode of Study

  1. This programme, Master of Theology (M.Th) shall be run on a monthly basis.
  2. The programme Master of Theology (M.Th) will involve lectures and Seminars. The curriculum indicates Compulsory (C), Required (R), and Elective (E) courses for a candidate to qualify for the award of Master of Theology.
  3. Candidates are required to register for a minimum of 58 units and a maximum of 60 units.

 Graduation Requirements

  1. Candidates must have successfully completed a minimum of 58 units and a maximum of 60 units with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 of a pass grade system.
  2. In view of point number one (1) above, candidates must have registered and passed the required number of courses prescribed for M.Th including carrying out and defending a dissertation on an approved topic within the stipulated period for graduation.
  3. The programme must be completed within 18 months and a maximum period of two years.
  4. Candidates must have demonstrated evidence of Christian character and eagerness to learn.
